Save our Pool - Phase 1

Tag Rugby Tournament - Year 5/6 February 2016

Our team of 11 played their hearts out. They were runners up in the first round, winning a medal and a place in the next round. They had to play against 19 other schools, finishing 9th overall. It was a tough afternoon of matches in sub zero temperatures, but they played as a team, supporting each other the whole time. Well done to Isobel, Olly, Oliver, Eli, Mathilda, Jacob, Kristen, Edward and George.

The whole School topic for Autumn 2015 is 'Best of British'. Our mini exit point was a Bake Off, with Ian Cumming from this year's BBBC Bake Off as our special judge. Each class had to make a cake, biscuits, bread and a fruit based non-bake. They also had to decorate a cake during a live challenge. Ian judged all entries and awarded a first place and a runner up in each category. Our parents even got involved entering cakes and paying in aid of Children in Need too.

It has been an amazing whole school event. Well done everyone!

In October we took part in our 3rd Meadow Mile, raising money for the school, whilst also having lots of exercise and fun. The range of costumes everyone wore were amazing and certainly helped us on our way!

Foundation Stage & KS1 recently had their Entry Point Day for their topic 'Jobs people do'.  Much fun and excitement was had in the hall pretending to be dentists, doctors, hairdressers, builders, optitians and shop keepers.  There was also 'The Meadow Cafe' staffed by the children providing water and rasins for snacks.

On Wednesday 22nd April, we entered 5 teams in the Priory Park cross country relay race in St Neots.

It was a demanding course, but all of our runners tried their best and didn't give up.

Over 65 schools entered, with each entering up to 8 teams - there were lots and lots of children there!

We are still waiting for final results and how many teams were in each race, but our results were:

Girls A team - 33rd place

Girls B team - 85th place

Boys A team - 20th place

Boys B team - 57th place

Boys C team - 96th place

As part of their 'New Life/Springwatch' topic in school, the Infants have had eggs in an incubator. Over the past few days we have watched as they started pipping, and then hatched completely out of their shells.

The whole school is completely besotted! So far 5 have hatched, 4 boys and 1 girl.

Keep watching over the coming days to see if any more hatch.

What came first, the chicken or the egg?
