PTA

Welcome to the PTA section!

The Meadow School Balsham PTA

The PTA is a group of parents, teachers and non-teaching staff members, who together accomplish wonderful things!

We meet on average twice a term and predominantly arrange activities that can raise much-needed funds whilst having lots of fun. There are a large array of activities throughout the year such as Discos and 'Eggstravaganzas' for the children, to Quiz Nights, Murder Mystery Evenings and the bi-annual Ball for the adults. We also have our annual ‘biggies’ – the Jumble Sale in January, June Revels in May/June and our Craft Fair in October.

We are an extremely successful PTA and raise thousands of pounds a year for the school. This has enabled us to help with the purchase of the ICT suite, the new swimming pool and interactive whiteboards for every classroom. Our latest big project is providing updated, challenging and fun outdoor environments for both key stages.

As well as the big purchases, the PTA provides funding for many other ‘essentials’ e.g. new piano stool, music system for the hall, lunch trolleys and 'golden time' toys. We also pay for travelling theatres and other external groups to come and work with the different key stages and provide leaving presents for every Year 6 child.

Events include:
June - June Revels
October - Craft Fair
November - Balsham Ball

Every teacher and parent is automatically a member of the PTA, but we are always looking for new committee members. Come along to a meeting to see what we do. Being a committee member is an ideal way to meet new people and have lots of fun, whilst benefiting all of the children who attend our school, both now and in the future.

If you don’t want to join the committee, we always need help at events, and/or cakes to sell and tombola/raffle prizes. Look out for details in bookbags or on Parentmail, or for more information please contact the school office who will pass your details on to me.

Many thanks
