What is Meadow Out Of School Club?

Meadow Out Of School Club (MOOSC) is situated in a mobile classroom in the KS1 school playground to provide safe and secure out of school care for children attending the Meadow Community Primary School. Whether you are working parents/carers or need the time for extra activities, the club will take care of your children.

MOOSC started in February 1997 in a classroom. In Easter 2009 we proudly moved into our new mobile which is very well equipped. We provide some of the best facilities in the area for out of school care.

We operate from 7.45am-9am and 3.15-6pm during term time, we also run some holiday clubs and professional days.

We are registered with Ofsted for 40 children and our recent inspection was marked as inadequate. Actions are underway to get us back to our previous rating of 'Good'.

A typical afternoon

The basic routine starts with the younger children being collected from their classroom, the older children make their own way to the mobile. All the children are checked in against a register and they are then offered a healthy snack and a drink. They are then free to choose which activities they would like. Sometimes we have a planned activity but there is no insistence to join in. At 4.30pm we tidy up for toast and a drink, in which the children make themselves, the rest of the time is free play.

As different children attend each day, there is always a variety of friends to play with.
