What is Meadow Out Of School Club?
MEADOW OUT OF SCHOOL CLUB
The Meadow out of school club (MOOSC) is situated on the KS1 playground in the mobile classroom. MOOSC provides a safe and secure environment for before and after school care.
Whether you are a working parent/carer or just want your child to socialise with others, the club is open to all.
MOOSC started with a committee of parents in February 1997 in a classroom within the school. In 2009 MOOSC moved to the mobile to accommodate the growing number of children attending the club.
Children can choose from a variety of resources, including arts and crafts, a quiet TV area, games and puzzles, outdoor play, Ipads and computers and a wide selection of toys.
A healthy snack along with toast or crumpets is provided in the afternoons.
Opening hours
We operate from 7.45 – 9am and 3.15 – 6pm during term time.
We also run some holiday clubs and professional days.
Foundation stage children will be allocated a key worker as a point of contact for parents
A typical afternoon:-
KS1 children are collected from school at the end of the day by MOOSC staff, whilst KS2 children make their own way over to the mobile. All children are checked in on the register and any absences are followed up by staff.
The children are provided with a healthy snack on arriving from school after which the children make their own choices to play or create.
At 4.30pm toast, crumpets of fruit loaf are given with a variety of spreads that the children take turns to cook and prepare (under constant supervision).
We have a dedicated team of staff to look after and support the children who all have necessary legal DBS checks. All staff are first aid and child protection trained.
We are registered with Ofsted for 40 children and at our recent inspection was given a rating of 'Good'.
